The intervention guidelines of the proposal are based on the environmental analysis of the site and aim at minimal interference on the soil, seeking the preservation of existing natural elements and prevention against landslides and erosion – a problem identified in previous studies. Thus, the proposal starts from the zoning of existing routes and areas of more stable topography for the positioning of the permanent equipment.
As a architectural program, the following buildings are suggested to allow the social activation of the Park, so as to make it attractive for the inhabitants of the city of Camaçari and the region: observatory, sports and recreational area, ecumenical center, native plants nursery and a central building receiving administrative and educational program.
A vertical observatory, associated to the main building, gives a total view of the park, allowing to observe all the environmental systems of the surroundings, infrastructure and occupations of the Park. An ecumenical center, on the crest of Morro da Manteiga, on the south side, welcomes the residents of Camaçari to celebrate their diverse faiths and religions. The native plants nursery is near the main access to facilitate logistics and take advantage of the ideal solar orientation and is destined to produce native seedlings for the reforestation of the park itself, the Forest Ring and eventually the district of Camaçari.
The main access road is maintained through Dilson Magalhães Avenue and five more accesses are added to ensure greater permeability. The paths are designed to interfere as little as possible in the sensitive topography of the slope. They follow the contour lines and promote a gentle ascent from the accesses to the highest levels and are associated with drainage ditches designed to facilitate the drain of rainwater. The current informal mountain bike track is assumed as a consolidated circuit and minimal changes are planned in the course design in order to avoid interference in the proposed equipment.
