A project designed for a site in Ponta Grossa, in the south of Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil. The program includes two sets of cabins for rent, which also include leisure and communal areas, on the highest part of the site, from where it is possible to see Lake Guaíba. In addition, there is a structure for events, with the sunset over Guaíba as a backdrop.
The architecture of the cabana complexes uses the same form-generating principle as all the building typologies: it starts from two connected parallel solid prisms, which form the sides of the buildings. These prisms house infrastructure and wet areas, while the space between them is used for bedrooms and living areas in the cabins, and common areas such as gourmet, living and games in the collective use buildings.
The event space uses the existing buildings to locate programs such as toilets, pantry, and kitchen, while the outdoor space is equipped with decks, ramps and staircases for setting up temporary structures. The spatial arrangement is designed to enhance the views of the Guaíba and the native forest.
